APPLE VINEGAR EXTRACT OF FRESH GINGER AND CRUD OIL OF GINGER
(ZINGIBEROFFICINALE) AGAINST DIFFERENT TYPES OF BACTERIA IN HILLA CITY, IRAQ

ABSTRACT
Objective: An evaluation forAntibacterial activity of extracts of Zingiber officinale (ginger) against gram positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus
Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus pneumonia, Streptococcus feacalis, Streptococcus mutanus, Streptococcus feacalis and gram negative
bacteriaEscherichia coli,Salmonella typhi, Moraxallia catarralis, Pseudomonas aeroginosa, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumonia, Enterobacter spp.
Acinetobacter, Serratia spp
Methods: Four ginger products were used to determine the antibacterial activity of aquatic extractsof fresh ginger, aquatic extract of powder
ginger,Crude oil of Ginger andApple vinegar extract of fresh Ginger.Agar well diffusion method was used in this study.
Results: Apple vinegar extract of fresh Gingerexhibited excellent and best antibacterial activity against both gram positive and gram negative
bacteria and show inhibition zone better than other ginger product, while Aquatic extract of fresh, dry powder Gingershowed antibacterial activity
against gram positive and gram negative bacteria and it show zone of inhibition better than Crude oil of Ginger.
Conclusion: Most of ginger’s extracts show high antibacterial activity against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria, therefore ginger can
provide protection to a certain extent against our natural enemies like bacterial pathogens.
