Researchers have devoted much time to metal deposition processes via the deposition of electroless nickel, alloy & composite coatings on different surfaces; most recent applications have been made possible due to different excellent characteristics of these coatings. These coatings have recently shown exciting properties in terms of wear & corrosion resistance, leading to several novel innovations for macro-level applications. In this work, the concept of composite coating via co-deposition coating was introduced. The improvement in the properties of the Ni-P alloy coatings was evaluated by introducing Zr particles into the electroless deposited solution. The stainless steel (SS) samples were first coated using electroless with Ni-P and Zr microparticles (size = 30- 70 ?m) at different concentrations of 0, 10, & 20 g/L. The samples were subjected to SEM and AFM analysis after being impeded in NaCl solution (3.5%) for corrosion behaviour study before the wear resistance and microhardness tests. The results of this study revealed a significant decrease in the corrosion currents due to the presence of inert particles. The corrosion and wear tests revealed similar improvements as well.
