Segmentation of Magnetic Resonance Images using K-meansand EM Clustering Algorithm
Abstract
Segmentation of images holds an important position in the area of imageprocessing. It becomes more important while typically dealing withmedical images where pre-surgery and post surgery decisions arerequired for the purpose of initiating and speeding up the recoveryprocess Computer aided detection of abnormal growth of tissues isprimarily motivated by the necessity of achieving maximum possibleaccuracy. Manual segmentation of these abnormal tissues cannot becompared with modern day’s high speed computing machines which enable us to visually observe the volume and location of unwanted tissues. This paper describes efficient methods for automaticsegmentation of magmatic resonance MR images.
الخلاصةلتجزئة الصور دور مھم في موضوع المعالجة الصورية . أصبح اليوم من المھم التعامل معالصور الطبية قبل وبعد العمليات الجراحية لتحديد المسبب للمرض وسرعة الشفاء وللحصولعلى الدقة المطلوبة تطلب وجود تطبقات تعتمد على استخدام الحاسوب تضاھي الاسلوب التقليديلتحديد حجم وموقع انسجة معينة .يتضمن ھذ البحث وصف لطريقتين رئيسيتن في التجزئة لصور الرنين المغناطيسي مع تحديدالطريقة الافضل من ناحية الزمن وامكانية العزل للانسجة.
