ABSTRACT in this study investigates the flow behavior and physical properties of waterpolyvinyl acetate PVAcsolution and ZnO nanoparticles filled water-PVAcsolution toward using in the oil recovery. The physical properties of PVAc and different types of water are tested. The river water is selected to mix with the 2, 3, 4, and 5wt %PVAc to prepare solution1.viscosity, surfacetension,PH, and density of this solution were tested with the PVAcconcentration then the water – 5% PVAc solution was chosen to mix with 0.2,0.3,0.4, and 0.5 wt. % of ZnO particles to prepare solution (2). Again viscosity, surface tension, PH, and density were rested due to the ZnO concentration.Viscosity of both solution (1) and (2) were tested with the shear rate increasing .The results show that the viscosity decreases with the shear rate and temperature increasing and increases with the PVAc increasing for solution1.Also the viscosity of solution(2)increases with the ZnO nanoparticles increasing and decreasing with the shear rate increasing. The surface tension and PHvalue decrease with the PVAc concentration increasing for solution1, while increase with the ZnO nanoparticles concentration increasing for solution(2).The density keep stable for solution(1) with the PVAc increasing, while decreases with the ZnO nanoparticles increasing.0.5% ZnO nanoparticles filled water-5%PVAc solutionhas higher viscosity and surface tension value, which reduce the coefficient of mobility and enhance the oil recovery. The PH value of this solutionslightly change compared with the other ratios and the decreasing in the density obtains some advantages in friction and pressure loss during flow.
